Bravehound
Bravehound are a Scottsh based charity that provide companion and assistance dogs to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder enabling them to lead a normal life .
The charity supports the veterans with veterinary costs ,feeding and equipment throughout the dogs life.
The dog is not trained for the veteran – they are given support to train the dog and it is this that can help ex-service personnel and their families adjust to living with the visible and invisible wounds of war.
“Most veterans adapt well to civilian life but many face real difficulties, in particular those with post-traumatic stress disorder. That’s where the charity come in by offering much-needed support and companionship.” Fiona MacDonald (Director)
